Sheriff's Office Investigating Death Of North Edwards Man As Homicide

On 11/25/2008, Deputies responded to the report a deceased subject at 18065 B Street in North Edwards, CA. The decedent was identified as Thomas Charles Horton, age 78, residing at that address.
Neighbors became concerned for Horton’s welfare when they had not seen him for over a week. They discovered Horton inside his residence and called 9-1-1. Emergency medical personnel responded and found Horton dead in a state of decomposition.
The residence was extremely unkempt and signs of foul play were not located. Horton was transported to the Coroner’s Facility pending an autopsy.
On 11/28/2008, during the autopsy, trauma was located on Horton’s body. Homicide detectives were called and are investigating this case as a homicide.
