Friday November 28th at approximately 2:42 A.M., a call was received by the Kern County Fire Department, for a structure fire in the 9000 block of Orvis Way in Lamont. 20 Kern County Firefighters responded to the incident. Their quick action prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent properties and was under control in approximately 50 minutes. Upon arrival, fire crews were faced with a fully developed fire in a vacant structure. Smoke and flames were billowing from the roof and windows.
